Kerry and was founded in 2012 to provide a consultation and bespoke serialisation training and delivery service, to facilitate full FMD compliance to our clients.  We provide a proven holistic method of turnkey serialisation solutions, we advise, design, build, install and maintain your company’s compliance requirements. Portalis Limited is a leading edge technology solution provider, specialising in the development of Serialisation track and trace systems, incorporating anti-counterfeit and patient compliance end-to-end solutions.

Who we are

Dr Niall Hoey

Chief Executive

Niall is a qualified geologist and geophysicist with a distinguished academic career having been awarded a first in his B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology at University College Galway, a M.Sc. in Geophysics at University College Dublin, a Ph.D. in Sedimentology at University College Galway and finally an MBA from Loughborough University.  He is an active member of several professional organisations including the International Association of Sedimentologists, the European Association of Geologists & Engineers, the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain, and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and is a registered negotiator of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

Niall spent 10 years with BG Group working both oil and gas exploration and production projects on four continents.  He held the post of Head of Exploration for the East Mediterranean based in Cairo.

Niall established his own company in 2001, Valentia Exploration & Production Limited exploring primarily in Turkey.  The company divested its Turkish assets as part of an initial public offering on the Sydney stock exchange in 2005.

Since then Niall has specialised in formulating country entry and exit strategies for several multinationals, brokering new oil, gas and LNG trade relationships in Europe, the CIS, US and Middle East, in addition he has advised funds and syndicated banks on investment and debt risk in both hydrocarbons and power generation and has completed several due diligent exercises leading to the acquisition of producing assets for clients.

John McKeon

Technical Director

John has enjoyed over 20 years as an engineer in the international market place and is a member of the institution of Engineering and Technology.  His vast experience spans several major sectors in engineering and technology, among them; avionics, material composition, electrical and electronic engineering and design, systems design and most recently in leading design changes and technological innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.

John believes in continual development and knowledge acquisition but also utilising the latest in technological innovation.  His career successes demonstrate a focus on client care while delivering projects against ever more challenging targets, budgets and timelines.

John has advised several blue chip multinational companies in their pursuit of production excellence, serialisation and advanced anti-counterfeit technologies.  Under his leadership, a project achieved a step change in capability through technological innovation. This interaction resulted in a number of ground breaking projects winning multiple corporate awards. The project was awarded the 2015 Global ISPE – FOYA in the category of equipment innovation.

John is a Director of Portalis Limtied and Valentia Exploration & Production Limited, it is his unrivalled understanding of the challenges facing serialisation in all industries and his unique vision for its evolution that drives the Portalis Limited strategy and team and their commitment to technological innovation.

Bradley Daden

Operations Director

Bradley is a Chartered Petroleum Engineer and has gained extensive operational experience from working over 20 years in various roles after gaining his B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Geology at the University of Plymouth and a M.Sc. in Computing in Earth Sciences from the University of Keele. He is also a member of a number of professional organisations including the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain, Fellow of the Geology Society of London, Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Energy Institute.

Bradley spent 11 years with Baker Hughes Inteq in several specialised positions, primarily offshore, where different well types and conditions were drilled from various offshore units and platforms.

Subsequently he formed his own consultancy and worked exclusively for BP in their West of Shetland development drilling campaigns. On completion of the BP developments Bradley joined Valentia Exploration & Production Limited in Turkey as drilling supervisor.

Since then Bradley has participated in various asset evaluations in Russia and then joined AGR petroleum services where he has been project leader on various assignments ranging from Reserves Audits for finance through an IPO to project manager of planning gas condensate field development offshore Venezuela. He has also worked as a Risk Engineer for Lloyds of London Brokers on various assets and installations for the insurance market.

Daniel O’Donoghue

General Counsel

Dan has an M.A. (Honors) Degree in Law from Queens’ College, Cambridge University.

Before concentrating on oil, gas and energy matters, Dan enjoyed a varied career dealing with general corporate/commercial projects in private practice in London, with Glynwed International plc, with Eaton Corporation Inc. in the automotive, aerospace and controls industry and then running an overseas law office in Cairo, Egypt. Moving into the energy industry, he joined Brown & Root as a consultant and then BG plc where he worked on many domestic and international projects before serving as Legal Counsel for all Eastern Mediterranean operations.

In particular, Dan was the lead lawyer / negotiator for the Egypt LNG Project, dealing with the matter from concept through to financial close and assisting the Egyptian Government in the re-drafting of their Gas Export Law.

Since 2001, Dan has run his own independent oil and gas consultancy, largely in the Middle East, Turkey and West Africa. He also serves as General Counsel for Valentia Exploration & Production Limited and Portalis Limited. He has extensive experience, gained both in private practice and in-house and worldwide in the oil, gas and corporate industries.

Dan also held the post of Visiting Professor of International Business Law at Cairo University and has contributed articles on international oil and gas matters to a variety of publications including the FTSE Emerging Markets Journal and Bloomberg European Business Law Review.
